Eleven Years

I can't recall when was the last time I actually made time to be near the bay to watch the sunset while in Manila before leaving for the States.  Then again, I didn't know that it will take me more than a decade to return.  I do know that I have a photograph somewhere of a sunset in Bacolod City where I frolicked near the beach with close friends Summer of 1997 shortly after medical school graduation.  And as an aside, Iloilo is the farthest south of the country I have been to.

Last Wednesday, we made it all the way up north to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, now the north-most part of the country I had been to!  The long trip made me wish the roads were as wide as the US interstate highways -- it may have cut the time travel to more than half.  But this is something I would never have experienced anywhere near in the US.

It was nice to be back home (although such a short trip!).
