Changing Roles

Almond Jr.* is just an ordinary bear. Here he sits and ruminates about his mundane existence.

Until the height of the 2006-07 NFL season when the Bears won their way to the Super Bowl, when he felt he had a purpose! He was going to be my sports mascot!

But a Super Bowl victory wasn't in his destiny. Instead he was crestfallen, a victim of stampeding Colts. He felt like he died.

Ah, but hope springs eternal. Resurrected, he is now a Cub, reporting for Spring training. Only 44 days left before -- Let's play ball!

Will he still be grinning in October?

*Almond was my first Teddy Bear. I believe he is still in my old room, that is if he escaped the termite attack.
