Strawberry Excess
Buying in bulk can have its consequences. Having too much of something. And it happened last week when I decided to grab a 4-lb-pack of strawberries. For two days I made strawberry-limoncello drink. And the strawberries I got was too tart for my taste that I don't feel like snacking them. So on the night that B didn't have to work, I looked up how to make crumbles to top off the strawberries. I looked at my pantry and fridge supply: flour (check), sugar (check), cornstarch (check), butter (check), lemon (check). I was tempted to add a little bit of balsamic vinegar (yes, I have that in my pantry too) but decided that since this is the first time I'm making this, I shouldn't alter it too much.
Turned out good, and I have left over crumbles in a Ziploc bag in the fridge for future use. Now maybe I should try this with Baguio strawberries when I make back to the Philippines later this year?
